é um clássico do garage rock interpretado pelos trashmen (uma banda de surf e garage dos anos 60 do século passado - parece que os elementos ainda vivos se mantém em actividade)

esta música foi escrita a partir de duas canções da banda de doo wop the rivingtons (que acusaram os trashmen de plágio e ganharam o processo legal):

há imensas covers da surfin' bird, umas mais conhecidas
